Chances are you’re familiar with Pillion star/Swedish nepo baby/one of the sexiest men of 2025 Alexander Skarsgård. What you may not be as familiar with is the actor’s love life. The True Blood alum caused a stir at the Zurich Film Festival last year when he was addressed his role in Pillion and said that “what I’ve done in the past, who I’ve been with, men, women” is “not really relevant”...but he has since clarified that he wasn’t coming out as bisexual in saying that.
“It was definitely not an intended statement,” he told Variety of the misunderstanding. “I don’t know what I was talking about. Maybe it has to do with—there’s a lot of focus sometimes on me as an actor. Maybe it was trying to shift the focus more to the story and these characters.”

Tuva is an actress
In addition to the many Swedish-language projects she’s appeared in, you may recognize her from Eat Pray Love and Annihilation, among other U.S. films.
She’s also a director
Tuva likes working behind the camera as well. Her first film Blind Spot earned her the New Talent Grand Prix at Copenhagen’s CPH PIX Festival in 2018, and she has since gone on to direct (and write the screenplays for) Britt-Marie Was Here and Diorama.
As she explained to Variety in 2019, “After Blind Spot and Britt-Marie Was Here, I felt safer about directing small or bigger-budget movies and taking on new creative challenges.”
Her parents work in the arts
Just like Alexander (who is the son of actor Stellan Skarsgård), Tuva was raised by parents in the business. Her father is Czech director and writer David Jan Novotný, while her mother is Swedish actress and artist Barbro Hedström.
She has three children
Tuva shares two daughters with her former partner of over 10 years, Nicolai Bjerrum Lersbryggen—but she really gave fans a shock when she stepped out with a baby bump at the Swedish Elle Fashion Awards in Stockholm in April 2022.
It wasn’t until November 2022, when Page Six spotted Tuva with Alexander and a baby that the couple was first linked.
Then, a full six months later in May 2023, Alexander finally confirmed that the child was his to Swedish outlet Aftonbladet, revealing that they had a baby boy. “We have a son who is eight months old now,” he said.
During a May 2025 interview with The Times, Alexander provided some rare insight into parenthood, saying, “It’s been an adjustment for someone who’s a selfish asshole like myself.” He went on to add, “I have two teenage stepdaughters, so it’s not like they can come with me and be out of school for six months.”
